What a pleasure it was. Travis is a great guy.

The odd thing is that we connected through a friend, Dylan VanWeelden, who is the marketing guy for Yakima racks, the best bike and other types of racks for cars or whatever mode of transport on the planet. They happen to be based in the Portland area, as is Travis. Travis and Dylan were both at a wedding last weekend and started talking about photography.

I first met Dylan while making pictures at cyclocross bike races, which goes to show how important it is to get out there and do things that interest you - because they're fun, for sure, but also because one step usually leads to another.
