What I've been up to

Wow, a week went by, like that. And hardly a moment’s pause. Working with several photographers and three assignments will do that, I guess.

So I paused today, and made bread. Here it is:

This was the first time I’d made this whole wheat bread recipe, from my bible, The Bread Bakers Apprentice. I had to start the poolish and starter yesterday. And I got to dash around town on my bike to get new bread pans as the dough rose this morning, which meant stopping at River City Bicycles to get the headset tweaked and a battery for the bike computer.

Then back home to bake. Yes. The bread is tasty.

Yesterday was a different kind of challenge – making pictures of scads of pieces designed by my wife, web and print designer Deb Pang Davis/Cococello.com to post to her site, the full version of which is about to launch. At least 15 of the pieces we photographed were for Kevin Weinstein’s Chicago wedding photography business. She did an amazing job designing his site and all the printed matter he uses in the business - logo, stationery, business cards, folders, brochures, envelopes, picture packages and more.

Here are a few of those pieces:

I can’t say much about the other two assignments because they’re for magazines. They were both a blast. And stay tuned for more information about some of the photographers I’m working with.

... just wanted to let you know some of what I’ve been up to.
